FLR(M)Accommodation Requirement - homebuyer report ok?

Post by Mragson555 » Mon Mar 26, 2018 7:59 pm

Hi,

I’m currently getting documents together for my wife’s FLR(M) application. I’m British, she’s Thai and we have one 3 year old son. Reading around the forum the general consensus seems to be that to prove that the accommodation is adequate you need a surveyors housing report. I recently (August 17) bought my home and prior to that carried out a homebuyers report. My question is do you think this will be acceptable? It seems to convey all the required information (sq m, number of rooms, state of repair) and it would great not to spend another £100 on what is a very costly process. If I included photos of each room along with it would this suffice?

If anyone has any experience or input would be much appreciated!

Tony

A housing inspection report is only required if you share the property with non related people, ie a house share or a house of multiple occupation.

If you own and live there solely as a family unit, it is not required.
