Revised fees 2018- booking appointment for later date before the fees change

Post by apsk » Tue Mar 27, 2018 1:39 pm

Hi Experts

I am due to apply for ILR in early May 2018 which means I can book appointment now itself and I can see appointments of 8th May 2018 but it is charging me existing fees 2887.00 GBP whereas I am aware fees is more from 6th April 2018 £2999. So, didn't continue the application.

So my question is if I book my appointment of May 2018 before 6th April 2018 would it be acceptable by UKVI if I pay the fees as being asked at the moment (lesser) or it will cause any issue while at appointment in May as fees will increase in due course. Though I understand if I book the appointment now I will just be following what system is asking me to pay, there is no option being show to pay extra to cover the revised fees. Please advise, it is a big amount and don't want to book now and get into trouble on appointment day.

Thanks in advance.

If you book before the 6th, you pay the current fee. You won't be asked to pay the extra.

This gives rise to another question please; as Set O version 1/18 form asks if fees of £2297 is paid, after revised fees of £2389 is implemented w.e.f. 6th April 2018, most likely Set O form will be updated and I must use the latest form (as it will be more than 21 days from 6th April) for application in May 2018 ? If it is revised then certainly it will ask if fees of £2389 is paid, what should be my response to it as I have paid £2297 now while booking the appointment?

If you have paid at the time of booking your appointment you do not complete the payment sheet in the form.

Hello,
I am in the same situation as "apsk" - the original poster. I think the reply from "CR001" answered one of my questions.

I have a follow up question which is related - I have a premium appointment on 10th April - coming tuesday. I had the 01/2018 SET(O)forms completed, but now since the new forms are out, have kept an additional copy of 04/2018 SET(O) form filled up handy just in case. Can I safely assume I shouldn't be using the 01/2018 forms at all?

Many thanks,
Davis

I dont know for sure but think if you have paid the old fee, you could use the old form up to 90 days after the new one is published...

It is 21 days NOT 90 days.

I am in the same situation. So what I understood from the above is if I booked a premium center appointment before 6th April 2018 then I no need to fill the fee details page on the application form and no need to pay the extra amount.Correct me if I am wrong here.

Also, Using the correct version of the SET(o) form:
It looks like the latest form has not changed much. So, in my case, I booked the appointment before 6th April 2018 and now the latest form is available, So I can fill the latest form.Because of home office suggests we need to use the latest form if we apply on or after 6th April 2018.

So my assumption is I can the latest form but paid the visa before 6th April 2018 i,e £2297. Please correct me if am wrong.

Hi CR001,

I have premium appointment on 9th May. I already paid the old fee (in end of March). As per your above comment I don't have to pay anything extra. Can you please ref link on UK visa site which states above? Just being cautious as you can imagine :). Also, I understand I will have to fill in a new SET (O) form. Is that right?

Thanks
