Irish citizenship for British passport holder

Hi all, i am asking this for a friend of mine:
Hè was born in india but has british nationality. Due to Briext, he is exploring the posibilities to get Irish passport. He is a bsinessman and happy to open a branch office there.

Can someone please advice what are the requirements he needs to meet to acquire irish passport/residency?
