Health requirements for Spouse

Post by greyfriar » Mon Apr 02, 2018 8:34 pm

Hi

My partner lives in the North America and we can meet all the requirements for her joining me in the UK as my spouse. The one thing I am not clear on is whether there would be any health restriction on her joining me (the websites only mention TB, which she does not have). The partiicular concern is that she is being advised to register as Disabled in her home country, could that affect her ability to immigrate here as my spouse in any way?

Thanks

Ian

Tb test is just to check that someone has not TB and regarding disability the UK excercise a very
non-discriminatory policy.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

A TB test isn't a requirement for a spouse applying from the USA.

The £600 NHS surcharge will cover all NHS treatment.

I was already known that you will pick my post as usual which I really like a lot, many thanks for that👍👍.

In north America it's not just USA is located but there are several other north american countries & it's territories which aren't mentioned properly by OP. Maybe your random guess about op country is correct.
I wasn't saying about NHS cost rather was telling that UK authorities don't excercise any discrimination on disability grounds. I hope now you got it.

@seagul My post was a continuation of my first response to the OP's question. You are right that there are other countries in North America, but unless the spouse is living in Guatemala, Panama or The Dominican Republic, she is exempt from the TB test.

I hope that puts your mind at rest. We're not scoring points here.
