British citizenship Tests

Post by canada1005 » Tue Apr 03, 2018 6:38 pm

Hi there

I am confused!

To get British Citizenship do you need to pass 2 tests or just 1?

Do you have to pass life in the UK test and also have a college/university degree to proof you can speak English. Or, do you just have to pass the life in the UK test.

My wife does not have any qualifications that she took in English. It'll be a nightmare for her to have to go to college just to get a qualification that proves she knows the English Langue. She works for our business so I need her working and not at college. My wife is from the EU.

The UK government websites explanation is confusing.

In addition to the Life in the UK test, it is compulsory for your wife to pass the B1 level test before applying for British citizenship. This must be a test on the UKVI approved list.

Was she not required to submit evidence of meeting the English language requirement for ILR :?:

Wife is from the EU, so presumably holds a Document Certifying PR.
