Stay in Isle of Man & UK ILR

Post by sruthigl » Thu Apr 12, 2018 2:38 pm

A quick help with this question, I'm on a tier 2 General Visa. I'm in UK mainland for 2 years now. i have been offered a position in Isle of Man, so if i consider this new role & switch to Isle of man for the rest of the 5 years period, will i be still eligible for ILR after 5 years & British citizenship later after a year?.

Yes you can get ILR in Isle of Man for the lawful time spent in the UK under a similar category like Tier 2.
Remember that the crown dependencies operate their own immigration system but the rules are almost identical to the UK immigration system.

The rules: https://www.gov.im/media/1361107/immigr ... l-2018.pdf

Hi Sruti,

I have the same questions as yours. Did you get the correct answer for your question? Could you please share your number so that we can talk about this?

Under the Board Ts&Cs, members are not permitted to post personal contact details on the open forum. This is for your own security as spammers and scammers frequently trawl the forum for such information. :!:

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

User 'sruthigl' has not applied for ILR (only posted 10 days ago) but merely asked if after two years in the UK (mainland) and subsequent move to IOM IF he might qualify for ILR.
