UK spouse visa from Egypt

Post by Sarahandkareem » Sat Apr 14, 2018 6:27 pm

Hi, I am new to this page and this is my first post. I have been with my husband for two years, he is Egyptian and lives in Egypt. I was born in the UK and still live there. We got married in Egypt last week. So our next step is to apply for the spouse visa for him to Come over here. I have registered his details already on the visa4uk account ready to apply and have registered his details on the tls UK contact application centre to get updates on the progress. We will be applying in two weeks time as he has took our marriage certificate, his PhD certificates, and other stuff to get translated into English. Our medical certificates have already been translated from Arabic to English. When I was there, I left him proof of when we met, my plane tickets from when I have visited him, pictures if us together, conversations between us, pictures our marriage, pictures on face time between him and my children, my tennency agreement, my council tax bill and a utility bill. I have no idea what the form asks us to fill in as I haven't looked at it yet. What sort of date are we looking at for the next available visa appointment and what is the time length to get a decision? We are just a little nervous as I am currently unemployed and receive universal credit only. Can you please advise if there is anything else we need, or I need to send to him, while we are waiting for the translation of the documents. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thankyou, love a scared Sarah and kareem xx

Under what circumstances are you being paid Universal Credit ? Does this include a disability or carers allowance :?:

So sorry for the late reply. I claim for my two children, payment towards my rent, which is privately rented. I am seeking work at the minute. I do not claim for carers or disability. Thankyou xx

Then your spouse won't qualify for a spouse visa. The child benefits or tax credits or housing benefit cannot be used to meet the financial requirement as they not qualifying benefits.

You will need to prove £18,600pa income with 6 months payslips and bank statements to apply for a spouse visa. Or have £62,500 in savings for at least 6 months.

Hiya

I dont really know if you can do this for a child with Autism, but if you claim carers allowance, you will be exempt from the financial requirement. I think you have to work so many hours a week along with claiming... but I think there is still a figure/amount that it has to add up to which I am unsure of.

Maybe someone else can advise with a bit more knowledge surrounding this. But i am also not sure if you can apply for carers allowance for a child with autism

Apply for DLA / PIP for your child and if he qualifies then you will get carers allowance. Which will then exempt you from financial requirements. You may also need to top it up with some savings / part time work.

Thankyou. He's been having appointments for two years now. But he has still. Not been diagnosed, so I can't actually claim yet. But there must be a way my husband can join me? I'm. So so nervous. We have everything needed apart from the financial bit.

If he can meet requirements in other ways then he can join you per say, but it wont be for settlement. For example if a company sponsors him for work he can come here, but it wont be settlement. Best to get all funds as no other way around it.

So, how savings? We have £8000 in savings. How much would we need? Also, my children's father earns a lot and is said he is willing to sponsor us, if this is an option? Or if we had an sort of job offer. Thankyou xx

The applicant (your husband) cannot sponsor you, it is the other way around. If you can get the carers allowance and with £8,000 savings you will easily meet the adequate maintenance requirement.

DLA / PIP isn't awarded nor based on a diagnosis alone, but rather how autism affects the day to day life of your son and the support he requires from others to cope etc.

Raising a Autistic child is not easy, and if you were too look deeply on his daily life living, you will find that you yourself underestimate how much care and support you provide for him.

If employment is not possible and you cannot get hold of savings of £62,500 (perhaps a wedding gift to you guys from your husbands relative) etc) then carers allowance is the way for you.

All the best and InshaAllah you find a way to bring your husband here who would be a lot of support to you especially caring for young and a disabled child.

Thankyou so much, I will look into this. We don't know anyone who has that sort of money, I wish we did. The father of my son, is not my husband, my father's son lives here in the UK and could sponsor my husband in Egypt. If this is on option? God, its so hard, but Inshallah it will all work out 🙏
