Tier 2 to ILR - SMS

Post by terriblescream » Mon Apr 16, 2018 1:31 pm

I got my ILR last month (12/03/18) through 5 yrs ILR - my Tier 2 CoS was valid until 17/04/18.

Does my employer have to update via SMS that they no longer sponsor me? even though my ILR was through Tier 2?

I know it probably doesn't matter for me but I do not want their license to be suspended or revoked.

No they don't. HO has issued your ILR so surely they are aware that you are no longer 'sponsored' don't you think

Hi

I recently got ILR, My employer rang sponshorship unit and they advised to do it in SMS, its easy your employer can do it in 2 minutes, all automated, where you select box that you are not sponsoring migrant, the next page will show "What's the reason" , then select that migrant has moved to differnt immigration category.

Thanks

Yes I thought so but then HO issues leaves in other categories where they want sponsor to update. Surely they know at that time too.

Not really. A British spouse doesn't have to inform HO their partner now has ILR and they therefore no longer sponsor them.

If SMS update is required, it would be specific to tier 2.
