FLR(M) First Time Help! Confused!

Post by femismyth » Fri Apr 27, 2018 5:26 pm

Hello,

I have recently gotten married and I am applying for my first Leave To Remain and I am switching from a Tier 4 Visa. I have three questions that have been bothering me.

1. Before we got married we had to notify the HO through the Registry for the 28-day notice. We got a letter back saying they wouldn't investigate. However, on the letter is clearly states that:

"any application made by you or your partner under the Immigration Rules.... 2006 to stay in the UK will still involve an assessment of the genuineness of that relationship by the Home Office"

I have trawled this site and there are different opinions about submitting documents to prove relationships. My question is do I still need this even though we are married? - and what type of evidence would be most suitable? Chats? Pictures?

2. I have just currently moved in with my wife (about 3 months ago) and we have only one document (joint account bank statement) with both our names on it. However, we have other letters, (Council Tax, Phone Bill etc - 5 of each) with our names individually, with the same address on them. Will this suffice?

3. We currently live in a 2 bedroom flat (with a living room, bathroom, and Spam), and we are flat sharing with a long time friend. The tenancy agreement was a 6-month initial which expired last month but is currently a rolling contract that can only be terminated with 2 months notice - and my name is not on this lease, however, I have a letter from the Landlord permitting me to stay there. Will this be sufficient to fulfill the Accommodation part? I have seen people submit Floor Plans/Inspection Reports, do I need this - in the light of the documents I currently have?

I would greatly appreciate any and all advice. Thank You!

For initial spouse visa application you won't need to prove cohabitation. If you sharing the accomodation then apart of landlord letter giving you permission to stay you will need inspection report too to prove that there is no overcrowding there.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
