Hi, this isn’t true. What the Home Office has said is that they estimate that approximately 1/3 of RCoS usually go to the NHS, not that there’s a specific cap on NHS workers.
There are many topics from recent days detailing the press articles. You don't even have to scroll to far down on the tier 2 main page to find them.

I am a Urologist ( Surgeon ). I was issued CoS in Nov, visa was refused in Dec, NHS Trust applied for CoS again in March - refused for not meeting min score, April - refused for not being lucky to be picked up from the lot allotted to NHS, but have met the minimum score - this is how my HR wrote to me. I am not convinced, my Nov CoS says,
1. Gross salary including any allowances and guaranteed bonuses - 56884.49
2. Gross allowances and guaranteed bonuses included in above figure - 18961.49
With this, my score for CoS should be 55 ( 20 RLMT + 35 Salary ), 55 was good enough this time, but I have no clue as to what my salary has been shown as. Despite asking HR on couple of occasions, she is not letting me know my score, strange!
Guaranteed bonuses are included provided this was part of the RLMT etc. The guidance is clear on what is counted and what is not.cali1234 wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 5:20 pmJack79 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 4:17 am@Hopeful42

Jack your actually salary is 37000 the rest is just bonuses and allowance which are not to be included ... hence your total score points are 37 and not 55 , this is why your cos was refused
Minimum score for April was 46. Considering the min score trend in the recent months I think, very less (or No) chances to get approved with 24k salary. Wish you Good Luck!Rmn26 wrote: ↑Wed May 02, 2018 7:12 pmHi,
can anyone please tell me what were the minimum points required to get the rcos application a success in April, 2018? My employer told me that my rcos was rejected, as I did not achieve the minimum points for April allocation. I will be joining as a graduate analyst with 24k salary. Is there any chances, my application for rcos will get approved in May allocation?
Will really appreciate your replies?
Thank you
Hi, thanks for asking for this. Although it will obviously be very different every month it's still useful to see. From my calculations thats 1352 RCoS just through shortage occupations...little wonder the cut off has been so high.boyapap wrote: ↑Thu May 03, 2018 9:27 amHi
I raised a request end of Feb to Home Office requesting information and received a response yesterday.
My Question: Information Requested
Please can you kindly provide the number of Tier 2 restricted certificate of sponsorship's (RCOS) issued to each SOC code for the month of February 2018 in electronic format or any format which saves you cost and time.
As based on the past few months its concerning that the cut off to acquire a RCOS has been increased to 46 points based on the info on the gov.uk website.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ponsorship I hope you are aware of the fact that it’s an issue now to recruit qualified IT professionals with a salary less than 50k annually, who do NOT fall under the Rcos shortage occupation category like nurses. We might need to request to exclude jobs like nurses & health care jobs from the RCOS monthly allocation. As based on the news from NHS due to the shortage of staff it looks like they would need to recruit approx 35000 nurses from overseas (India, Philippines etc) in the future. if this issue is not looked into as a matter of concern UK will have a shortage of IT skilled professionals in the near future.
Please provide the number of RCOS issued to each SOC code based on that we can foresee the future recruitment within each month otherwise it feels we are speculating that the cut off to get a rcos will reduce as each month goes by.
