Hi ALL,
please please need help! this payment declined happened to someone close and still within the 28 days period, but they said to re apply as new application but worry is how about the work? can she work? this is her last extension and after almost 6 months this happpened and we are really lost!! enough fund was there but for whatever reason it didnt go thru!! If new application and again wait and cant work, will be huge problem!! please please someone gives me some advise!

Hi, i believe there will be requests made to the HO that this was out of her control and specially there was fund so whole thing is totally disturbing! My question is can she get the permission to work while decision being taken or you think they will approve it once the confusion is cleared. SHe is thinking of visiting there in person to discuss the matter. thanks so so much for replying..

Very sorry, I googled Payment Declined and whatever forrum I got, posted on! sincere apologies, you can guess bit stressed. SHould I change the forum? what do you mean by what application exactly, again please accept my apolgies.

This is on Assylum visa but last extension as far as I know. I am trying to help her with mental comfort while the lawyer tries to solve.

Did she notify her bank of the transaction that will be done?
SHe is thinking of visiting there in person to discuss the matter.
She won't be able to do this. HO does not have 'walk in centres' where applicants can 'visit' to 'discuss the matter'.

Funny thing is same day other payments (smaller amounts of course) went thru but this one failed! SHe is a health professional and very much in need at her workplace!

Sorry, no bank was not notified because this shouldnt have failed! the day also shows enough funds! I see may posts with this situation and I wonder what are her options In terms of continuing work, she is a well respected health professional!

It is often the bank fraud detection service that blocks payment. Has she thought to contact her bank to ask if the payment was attempted?

Yes, she did and to be honest this affects her personal life in a great way and I am working on surface info here,not able to get more but I am sure she found out it was attempted because she confirmed another payment went thru same day. I guess i am trying to comfort myself too cause I am affected in a huge way! I can tell this she tried to cal up HO to pay by phone but they said can not accept! It just stops her really mportant research work at university and huge pause if God forbids re apply (falls behind the q) and another 3 to 6 months.

Actually, she is planning to go to HO to pay, is it possible? but they already cancelled the full application based on payment decline being only cause and she is within the 28 days time frame.

No, it is not.

Has HO sent her application back as invalid? Your post is not very clear. HO would usually send a letter asking for updated or alternative payment details.
Perhaps your 'friend' should register on the forum herself and ask her own questions.

Yes, application is returned being invalid due to non payment and asked to fresh apply.

Did she not receive a letter from HO asking for updated payment details?
Your reference to '28 days' is also no longer valid. The 'grace period' of 28 days was reduced to 14 days last year.

Hi, thanks a lot! yes, she was given time to pay and new details were requested which was provided also within the time frame and when HO tried to put thru the payment request for the 2nd time, it failed again though enough fund was there. And I think what happened is such a unique situation nobody thinks that we need to inform bank to let our OWN fund out, and this is where the ball was dropped. Now asked to reapply and she stopped working. She is reapplying in less than a week (you are right it is 14 days now), what are the chances of this turning around anytime soon? any miracle can be expected?

It is not a 'unique' situation. She should have contacted her bank as soon as she knew there was a problem.

Hi, thanks a lot for your assistance! yes, we understand the unfortunate event that took place. My question is has anyone encountered the same? I mean she has applied yesterday new application with reason for past being payment error. Any experience with the same and if so, what was the outcome after application?

Hi all,
Needing some serious support here and if I posted in wrong area, apologies!
HO tried to take my partners payment for visa extension and it failed twice (of course no explanation why, since money was there). After 5 months (since applied) Application returned and asked to reapply which we did (within 14 days) (biom done again) and it is now 2.5 months since reapplication. We just received the Acknowledgement (in the first week I think) .Technically he is overstayed and hence he stopped working voluntarily. Therefore the work area (specialized and highly skilled profession) is badly affected specially being in a controversial field like health industry and you can imagine adverse effect financially and emotionally.
It seems HO has treated his application as if a brand new, which is not the case!
I saw many posts with similar payment declined issues. My question is if any one gone thru it and if so how long it took after reapplication? Please, it will put us in great mental peace if you can spare some time or even shed some light into it.

thanks for all cooperation so far. I have posted lots of question earlier but as I did not have complete pic was a bit in the air. I apologise to have wasted some time of all.
This is the situation with help of high profiled lawyer:
1. DLR granted in 2014 on the basis of few things one of them is also building a successful medical career in the UK, situation remained unchanged as of now and profession wise improved significantly
2. Extension for renewal was up in July 2017, applied on time and payment was processed by HO that failed in December 2017 and Jan 2018 (by Bank fraud protection dept)
3. Application returned in early Jan 2018 saying to reapply and given 14 days and reapplied and redone the Biom, also acknowledgement received in mid Jan 2018
4. it has been 2 months
5. other info- applicant stayed in the UK as a Medical student and then a specialist with NHS (20 yrs in 2019). She never applied ILR because well, lets just say never thought of immigration can be important! (thats a whole different thought process without any excuse)
Anyone faced similar and if so, can you shed any light please? again, I apologise if posted in wrong area!

maybe phone up your bank to see if another attempt was made for payment and if it was successful or not, at the same time, give them notice that the payment from UKVI/Home Office and the amount they are supposedly going to take so there is not another mishap on their side again.

If you could provide start and end dates for the above information it would help in answering it.
Has this person been working for the past (almost) 20 years and that too with the NHS, since 1999?!?
If they didn't apply for ILR during that time have they had valid leave through out that period?
