Subject Access Request

Post by kankerot » Mon Apr 30, 2018 4:41 pm

Has anyone applied for a SAR from the HO?

It is for my mother - she is a British citizen but cannot remember the exact date when she arrived in the UK. She knows the month and year. She needs this to complete her state pension - the date she came to live in the UK and I would rather not get it wrong with the way the UK government operates these days.

So she came in 1971 - would a SAR go back that far or would I need to put in a detailed request? The only thing we need to confirm is her date of entry.

Thanks for linking to that thread. It seems there will be no evidence of that. Is it detrimental to make a SAR for a non HO related issue?
