Spouse visa

Post by Janineaviva » Thu May 03, 2018 7:45 pm

I need some advice on my spouse visa. I have two scenarios. I apologise for it being ridiculously long! Here is the issues I have:

Scenario one (current situation)
I have been working for 6 months on a zero hour contract and am in receipt of carers allowance. Carers allowance are paying me at least two months in arrears as my wages on my first month of working got messed up by the employer ( missed the payroll date so they paid me two months in one). I have to fill a form every two months with my wage details and slips and send them to carers allowance . if I am under the limit of which I am allowed to earn they will back pay the carers allowance. ( I still receive the full amount of carers allowance but in one lump sum) I am always under and have been for the past five months. But the carers allowance unit said I have to do this for a year. I am just wondering if this will be a problem when proving I am in receipt of carers allowance and the amount of which I receive.

I have 6000 in savings which I have held for 9 months in my bank.

My earnings are as follows.

Month one: £519
Month two: £180
Month three: £263
Month four: £263
Month five £430
Month six: £430

The weekly mean average is £ 86
Carers allowance is £64 per week although I am not receiving this weekly I'm receiving it every 2-3 months in arrears in lump sums (£512 or £712 if they put it In 3 months back payment)
Savings 6000/143 £41

In total I receive with all the above included £191 per week. I have no rent or council tax bills as I am living with parents, there is more than enough rooms and fully owned.

I am just worrying about carers allowance not being paid weekly/monthly but in arrears and with being on a zero hour contract I am worrying if this is going to be a huge problem.

Scenario two.
Would it be better for me to temporarily leave my job and claim income support in which my carers allowance will be paid to me weekly instead of having to send wage slips every two months and I would not have to wait for the back payment of carers allowance.

I could claim income support of £45 per week
Carers allowance of £64 per week
Cash savings of £6000 equivalent of £41 per week
Total £150 per week.

Once the visa is hopefully granted I could then return back to work. Which I have consent from my employer to do.
Which would be the best option. I would rather go for scenario one as I think it looks better working I’m just worried incase the zero hour contract will be an issue and carers allowance paying me in arrears.

Thank you so very much for reading this long novel! And thanks in advance for any advice, it’s hugely appreciated.

Hey there, I am her husband and I had made this account and posted when I was in the UK visiting her. I am now back in the US, so this account does belong to someone else. I am sorry for any confusion.
