New name on BRP

Hello,
Could someone please help me with my query below?
My name on my current Indian Passport & Biometric Residence Permit is my Maiden name. I got married in 2015. I am due to apply the extension for my Biometric Residence Permit in June 2018. Can i apply the BRP with my new name, that is, my husband's surname? And provide marriage certificate with the application? Or do I have to change my name first on my passport?

You need to change your Indian passport first.
Char (CR001 not Casa)
