Refund of Immigration Health Surcharge

Post by khasan15 » Tue May 08, 2018 10:42 pm

Hi,
Can anyone help to let me know if I can get refund for IHS fee.

I had enter under Tier-2 with my family (total 4 persons) in 2016 and paid immigration health surcharge total GBP 2400.0 for 3 years from 03/05/2016 to 14/03/2019.

In Dec'2017, I had change my job with new employer and applied new tier-2 visa for myself and my family (total 4 persons). I had paid again immigration health surcharge total GBP 2400.0 for 3 years from 08/12/2017 to 14/01/2021.

I had paid double IHS between my first tier-2 visa and new tier-2 visa for the period from 08/12/2017 to 14/03/2019 ( duration 1 year 3 months 6 days).

Kindly appreciate if any help me to tell if I am eligible for IHS refund for above period from 08/12/2017 to 14/03/2019. If so, kindly tell me how and where I should apply for refund. Any email address.... etc.

Appreciate your kind help.

Thanks/ Hasan

No refund can be processed. They changed the rule.

https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigrati ... on/refunds

You can try in your case as they don't put your case Tier 2 -> Tier 2 as example. No refund if from Tier 2 -> ILR (you could get refund before).

This is a ripped off.

Your dependents did not even have to apply for a new visa when you did. They could have continued and then extended their visas shortly before expiry.
