UK Spouse visa application before marriage

Post by ue120 » Mon May 14, 2018 12:58 pm

Hi all,

I am a British citizen living in the UK engaged to a Turkish citizen, my fiancee is currently living in Turkey.

I have been looking around the web for different types of visa and decided to apply for UK Spouse visa after we get married in July 2018. I found that the application needs to be submitted via the Visa4UK website. Having gone through the application steps, the part 3/ family details section ask for the current marital status, which I have answered 'Married / Civil Partner'. I have now competed the application and not sure whether to submit it because we are not yet married.

Ideally I would like to make the application now and secure the appointment in August 2018 (just after the wedding) so that both my wife and I can attend the appointment. Should I wait till after we get married or submit the application now?

Thanks

Yes as you are not married now and what you have stated in the form is not true and correct.

If you submit now, you have 15 days to submit supporting documents and you clearly won't be married in that time.
