ILR and Tier 2 dependant

Post by ashlav » Thu May 17, 2018 9:57 am

Hi,

My partner is on Tier 2 visa. He is eligible to apply for ILR in Nov 2018. However I am tier 2 dependant and my 5 year completes in February.
My question is
1) Do I need to change my visa category if my partner applies for ILR. ( I have valid tier 2 dependant visa till September 2019)
2) Can I stay on Tier 2 dependant category till February or till I am eligible to apply for ILR.

No you don't, provided your partner is applying for ILR based on 5 years Tier 2 and not on 10 years long residence.

Yes, see #1 above.
