Child Benefit for Child on Family Settlement VISA

Please pardon me if this question may has been asked in past but i could not find it.

I am on ILR (indefinite leave To Remain) since 2013. I have my baby born outside UK in 2016. My wife and baby recently got Spouse Family Visa for 33 months. I would like to ask if i can apply child benefit?

You can claim yes as you hold ILR.

Thank you for replying CR001. I am ILR Holder and can claim child benefit in my name only however Claiming Child benefit would affect his FLR since he has comment on VISA (NO resource to Public Fund)? I think it comes under Public fund? I do not want to breach his immigration condition therefore need assurance before claiming.
Any advice please. Thanks.

No it will not affect his FLR visa!!

jamshaid you need to appreciate that Child Benefit is never claimed by the child!

It is claimed by an adult and if that adult has ILR, for example, claiming the Child Benefit is not a problem.
