Fast Track Process.

Post by imran321 » Wed May 23, 2018 1:22 pm

Hi,

Not sure if I am posting in the right area, but I was wondering if someone could please help me?

I submitted my documents to Sheffield on 17th May and they received it on 18th May, however I did pay for 'Fast Track - Priority visa settlement fee'... for my spouse in Pakistan.

Now, has anyone recently paid for fast track and how long did it take for you to hear from home office? I haven't even received acknowledgement from the office in Sheffield that they have received my documents? I appreciate it hasn't even been a week yet since they have received it, however how long does it take? My spouse also took the option of 'text alerts' and hasn't heard anything either. I'm aware you can't even track the status of your case either... I have to call or email them (the chargeable fee).

On a separate note, I read somewhere that when my spouse does get the visa, they have to bring the TB certificate with them to show when they reach UK. But the original TB certificate is sent to Sheffield, so will a copy of the TB suffice?

Any help of guidance would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Your post has been moved to the Family Immigration Sub forum as the 'Settling In' sub forum is NOT the correct place to post spouse visa questions.

Sheffield dont always send documents received email. You can email them if you are worried, but i'd wait as its very early days for you. If you have proof the bundle was received at Sheffield then dont worry about it they have the docs.

They aim to decide within 30 working days from bio-metrics. Doesn't mean they will.

Your documents will be returned once scanned by them / decision made. They sometimes return documents very fast or after decision made. If your wife has a photocopy of the TB they can use that, bare in mind most of the time at boarder they will not even ask for the cert. If they doubt she has TB then at airport they have facilities to test her.

InshaAllah you get a decision soon.

Thanks. I was thinking of emailing, but then I've read on the forum how they've got the 'generic' reply, so not convinced to email them. I'm just thinking if they are going to take a long time with deciding then what's the point of paying for a fast track?

You mentioned they aim to decide within 30 working days from bio-metrics (as you mentioned not guaranteed) so does this mean my application working days count from the day the bio-metrics was done? i.e. she got them done in Lahore on 10th May, so is that my working day 1? Or does the working days count when I actually submitted my form online? I am not sure from which date I should start counting the days my application has been active with home office? Can you please guide me on this?

Thanks for clarifying about the TB certificate.

I guess if I don't hear from them in 2 weeks since they've received my documents, I'll contact them.

Thanks for your help - it's much appreciated.

As stated before it is bio-metrics date it is counted from. Priority just puts your application ahead of other non-priority; it doesn't mean a decision is guaranteed to be made earlier.

However, provided all documents etc are in order decisions are usually made within the 30 workig day time.

Was yours fast track too? & in my covering letter I told them to post me back the originals only (like my nikkah, IELTS, TB, etc) with a stamped envelope. Did you get your originals back?

If its 27 days then it was obviously priority.

The OP did indeed ask!!
