Hi all,
I'm a Zimbabwean woman aged 28 and currently reside in Zimbabwe. My mother (Zimbabwean) lives in the UK on an Asylum Visa and she's yet to qualify for a permanent residence visa. My last visit to the UK was from 1 October 2012 to 9 January 2013 on a 6 months visitor's visa. I was then visiting my father in the UK who had cancer and my mother who was taking care of him.
When my father got critically ill on 20 December 2016 I applied for a visitor's visa through the Visa Application Centre in Harare. I was denied on the basis that I wasn't financially able to take care of myself and I wouldn't have a reason to return to Zimbabwe upon expiration of my visa. I couldn't to appeal except apply again on the basis that my circumstances change. This was in-spite of me having 3 sponsors in the UK who were willing to support me financially during my visit. My mother requested that try join her again as my dad's health deteriorated so I applied for visitor's visa again it was refused on 7 March 2017 on the basis that i am single and with no dependant so I had no personal or economic ties to Zimbabwe as proof that i would return at the end of my proposed visit. Also my financial circumstances were not meeting up to the officer's expectation although I had sponsors willing to support me, evidence of my father's critical condition, and a letter of support from the local MP in my mother's constituency.
Sadly dad died in the UK and was repatriated and buried in Zim.
As my mum (60) is now living alone in the UK, we have spoken about the possibility of me joining her and supporting her there, but I dont know what path is open for me to do so under the Immigration Rules hence my appeal to you all on this forum for any advice as to what steps I need to take.
I'm sorry in advance if I've posted this in the wrong area or if i havent mentioned everything you may need to know to be able to point me in the right direction.
thank you,
Chelsea
