Was reading this forum as I am also planning to bring my daughter to the UK.

I was looking at gov.uk website and I was wondering whether the VAF4A application was needed? as the website is asking to apply online and also fill Appendix 1 and SU07/12. https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/child

Many thanks

How old is your daughter?

Where is her other parent?

Has she ever lived in the UK?

What is the nationality of the child and the other parent?

Is the other parent also coming to the UK with the child?

Are you married to the other parent?

What is childs and other parents immigration status in Cyprus?

Are you named on the childs birth certificate?

Presumably you are the father of the child?

You will be unable to bring the child without the mother also applying to come at the same time.

HO will expect to see official documents of sole responsibility to bring a child on a visa.

immigration-for-family-members/sole-res ... 13087.html

Are you in a relationship with the mother?

As unmarried partners, the mother won't qualify for a visa without evidence of a minimum of two years cohabitation in a relationship akin to marriage.

Thanks CR001

I will look into the website you sent.

How do I have to proof sole responsibility?

Just to mention, I have been financially supporting them in Cyprus since.

The country as well is not great for them to live there. politically and economically instable

Does that help?

Indefinte Leave to Enter the UK

Post by charlytchouadou » Sun Jun 03, 2018 12:16 pm

Hi All

I will be grateful to get advise here on how to bring my child over to the UK for a permanent stay.

She currently in the UK with me on a 6months family visa, which is due to expire in a month.

My plan for her is to leave the UK and apply for an ILE.

I wanted to know what is the best way to proceed?

what forms would I have to fill?

from the information gathered, I would have to do an online application and fill out appendix-1-vaf4a

https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/child

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ix-1-vaf4a

is there anything I am missing?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Regards

Charly

I have merged your topics.

Can you answer the questions you were asked when you posted the same questions last year?? The advice will not change and you will still need to show sole responsibility if the mother is not applying with the child.

Hi CR001

Thanks for the swift response.

I am not in the relationship with her mother and I have sole responsibility.

My daughter is currently with me in the UK on the 6 months family visa, expiring in a month.

I understand she cannot apply for a Leave to remain whilst in the UK as she came as a visitor, reason why I want her to leave the country and apply from outside for a ILE.

What forms would I need to complete? I understand I would have to do an online application and fill out appendix-1-vaf4a. are these correct?

When I applied for the family visa for her to come here, all supporting documents were sent to British embassy in Northern Cyprus back then.

Would it be the same this time again for the ILE?

where would the appendix-1-vaf4a be send?

Regards

Charly

What documentation of sole responsibility do you have?

Hi Simon

I have a letter from her mother giving me full responsibility for the child.

Her mother is currently studying in Northern Cyprus and cannot have the child with her, so I am responsible for her upbringing. So the child will be going to Cameroon and staying with a guardian, whilst her ILE application is processed.

This would likely not be sufficient. Do click on the 'sole responsibility' links that have previously been provided.

Hi CR001

Except the mother letter, I have pretty much been responsible and making the decision for my daughter since she was born. Since she came here, I have been attending hospitals, meeting with her etc.......

Looking at the factors to be considered for sole responsibility, I believe I meet most of them.
