Can Tier2(ICT) dependant switch to Tier2(G)

Hello

My wife is on an ICT Long term visa valid until the end of 2019.
I and my child are currently also in the UK as her dependants.

Currently, we are looking to switch to Tier2(G) visa, but I guess is not possible for my wife as cooling-off period applies.

If I get a sponsor, I am thinking of getting a Tier(G) visa for me and add my wife, child as a dependent.
Is the bove step possible? If so, are we required to apply from home country or can proceed within the UK?

Would be great if somebody could guide me with the visa queries.

Yes, if you get a sponsor and the full and proper RLMT is done and you can get a RCoS approved by HO (been difficult the last few months as points for RCoS have been quite high).

You have to apply from home country, i.e. you cannot switch to Tier 2 G within the UK. Your spouse and child can however switch to Tier 2 dependent within the UK once you return with your visa.

Thanks for the response.

I am thinking of other alternatives as well:
1. Assuming my wife has a new job offer and employer is ready to file Tier2 visa, is it possible to switch with-in the UK?
2. If her current employer does Tier2 G and happy to switch her from ICT to G. I believe it is considered as a new application and does cooling-off period apply in this case?

1. No. She has to apply from home country with an RCoS and these are difficult to get these days but she will be subject to the 12 month cooling off period unless being offered a salary of £159,600pa or higher.

2. She cannot switch to Tier 2 G with the same sponsor who has sponsored her Tier 2 ICT. She would have to wait the 12 months cooling off outside the UK first.
