No, if applying by post, it is the date HO receives it. It is not the same as for visa/ILR applications.
Really? why they set different rule?
You are confusing the Immigration RULES with Nationality LAWS. They are separate and different and not dependent on each other.cyclina1 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 3:47 pmReally? why they set different rule?
My understanding is: if you use the other couriers, the date you post the documents may not be found as it may not be stated on the package. So the HO can only determine by the date they receive the documents. If by Royal Mail, there must be a dated stamp chop or stick on the documents, so they can take this as application date.
Will be very unfair to the applicant if the post office delivered late because of whatever reason.
Now I know they are different, by the fact. But what I mean is what's the rationale of the difference between visa and nationality if applies by post -CR001 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 3:50 pmYou are confusing the Immigration RULES with Nationality LAWS. If you post your citizenship application, it is the date HO receives it, same with courier.
If your apply online, date of application is the date you submit and pay online.
If you apply using NCS, the date of your appointment is the date of application.
Applications under the Immigration Rules do not have the mandatory requirement of being physically present in the UK at the start of the residence period to qualify like citizenship does. They are different rules and different requirements.
