british citizenship inquiry

Post by Asdf45 » Thu Jun 14, 2018 6:40 pm

I have some questions concerning registration as a british citizenship from outside the UK

1. Is it okay to request my passport back from the
home office while my application is still going on (not decided yet) ? Please note that i am applying at discretion from OUTSIDE the UK

2. How will the home office return my important documents back when applying from outside the UK. What do i need to do to get them back as i am outside the uk???
Could you answer my 2 question please
Thanks alot

What is the basis of your registration as a British citizen application? How old are you?

What is the UK immigration status of the parents? Does the 15 year old applicant have ILR/ILE? How long has s/he resided in the UK?

The expectation for a registration under Section 3(1) is that at least one parent has British citizenship and the other parent and child have ILR/ILE.

Mere birth in the UK does not count for much, unless at least one parent subsequently acquires ILR/ILE before the child turns 18.

Prima facie, you do not really qualify for British citizenship.

Remember that discretion also includes the ability to deny. And the application fees are not refunded in case of a negative result.

See from Page 27 onwards of the Registration as British citizens - children guidance.

I think you didn't get my full details to judge on it.
Also remember its an expectation not a requirement.
But anyways this isn't my point. I have SENT the application already and its due, that's why i am asking the above questions. So kindly read my questions again and then answer them.
Thanks in advance

I am happy to answer Q1 and Q2, however, I am surprised you submitted an application (MN1?) without reasonable assurance that you will be successful. I personally would take secret.simon's responses very seriously.

In any case, UKVI generally return documents when an application has been decided, which could take months. Documents are returned via second-class mail generally, a pre-paid envelope can be sent with the application, presumably they will post it with the service you have paid for. This is all from internal UK experience, reported by members.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

I think you didn't get me right.,!

#Currently I am outside the uk, my question is
( can i request my passport back when the application HAS NOT been decided, i.e. still due) as i will need them for travelling.

#How much time will it take for the passport to reach me?

#Also i am outside the uk, so how will i get my passport back then ( as i am not inside the UK?)

I hope that someone answer me.
Thanks in advance

I am asking these questions because i received a letter from the Home Office saying that they will need my original passport. But i am afraid that it could be lost during its way as I will need for travelling. So is there is anyway rather than sending the original passport. Please note that i am applying from outside the UK

I need urgent help.

KINDLY please answer my ALL 4 questions.

Thanks in advance...

It would have saved time if you had explained this clearly in your opening post.

You have no choice but to submit your original passport as requested.

No one can tell you how long it will take for this to be returned.

Wasn't a return address given on the letter you've received :?:

No, there was no a return adress I guess.
The only address which was written was at the top right of the letter. (The address which I sent the application form to)
I am i supposed to send it to that address?
Or where am I supposed to send the documents ?

Asdf45,

First of all the advise that you get on this forum is free. You are not paying for it. People are trying to help you. So stop being rude to the people who are trying to help you.

Secondly, you have not provided all the details in your opening post. Also you have not mentioned under which route you filed your application in..

Neither of your parents are British Citizens/ hold ILR. Not sure if your Grand parents were British and you are applying using that route. Is someone (British Citizen) adapting you (adaption route)?

Without complete details no one will be able to provide you the details. Moreover if you dont qualify under any of the routes- then most probably you are going to lose the money that you have paid towards the application fees.

Are you sure you applied via UK govt site? It all sounds so fishy, I hope you are not victim of some Scam where some fraudster is trying to dupe you.

Good luck,
Gem
