Cancelling Premium Appointment

Post by Nicko » Fri Jun 15, 2018 1:54 pm

Hello!

I have a query about the Premium Service appointments. I'm finalising my FLR(M) application online, and deciding between the Standard and Premium services.

If I book the Premium service now, just to lock a date down, and then decide to go with the Standard service instead, can I get a refund on the £610 it costs to book the Premium?
The below link suggests that if I booked the appointment online, cancelling it would require withdrawing the entire application, whereas if I booked the appointment in person, I could cancel up to 5 days beforehand. Is this correct? The difference seems very bizarre to me...

Thanks very much to any who take the time to read and respond,
Nicko.

I believe if you complete the form online you are effectively submitting your application, whereas at an in-person PSC appointment you submit your paperwork at that point. That’s probably why there’s a different refund policy.
My comments do not constitute immigration advice, if in doubt consult an immigration adviser/solicitor

Thanks equitydealer. But to get a Premium Service Centre appointment, you still need to complete the form online, right? So in either case, you're completing the form online.

The link (https://www.gov.uk/ukvi-premium-service ... ppointment) seems to suggest that booking the PSC appointment through the online application and booking it in person (as distinct from the PSC appointment itself) are two different things; with only the latter open to a refund upon cancelling.

Anyone else have any experience on this at all?

You do not have to complete the FLR(M) form online to get an appointment. You can book an appointment on its own and still use the paper form.

If you use the online FLR(M) form and pay online, you would then have to withdraw your application and refunds can take weeks.

Thanks CR001.
Okay, I think I have it now. And in fact, according to that link, you don't get a refund at all when you withdraw your application.
Thanks guys.
