Conversion of Tier 2 ICT into Tier 2 General

Hi,

Currently I am working on Tier 2 ICT from my current employer. Could you please enlighten me that do I need to serve cooling off period in my home country if I apply Tier 2 general and how can I convert my current Tier 2 ICT into Tier 2 general.

I am looking for two options:

1. I convert my Tier 2 ICT into Tier 2 General. So what would be the process?

2. If I get my wife's Tier 2 general then what would be the process for me to get Tier 2?

If explain in details with all possible steps so that I can decide which option is feasible for me to work in UK with other employer or if I can do Contract based job or not.

1. You are subject to the 12 month cooling off period before you can apply for a Tier 2 General visa.

2. If your spouse gets a Tier 2 General visa, then you can switch within the UK (if you still have a valid visa) to Tier 2 General Dependent. Your wife must apply for her Tier 2 General visa from home country.
