Hi everyone!
I submitted my application for first British (adult) Passport in mid of December, 2017 (the very same day when I was granted British citizenship). But unfortunately, in February, 2018 the Home Office’s Passport examiner called me on phone and informed me that since I have changed my name therefore now I need my home country’s passport to be re-issued with my new name on it. Furthermore, my certificate of naturalisation’s issuing office didn’t add my previous name on it ergo I’ll have to correct it from the certificate issuing office.
Luckily, the Naturalisation office did their job in a month without charging me a penny and issued a new certificate of naturalisation with all corrections but sadly my home country’s embassy caused too many problems for me due to my name change. It is a very long story but anyhow last week, I got my home country’s passport with my new name on it which I sent to the HMPO on same day along with my correct certificate of naturalisation.
Today, I have received a text message from HMPO that I should receive my passport within next few working days. Same day I have received an other text message that I will have to sign my passport with blank ink etc.
Can anyone please share his/her experience with me that how many days does HMPO take to deliver the passport after sending the text regarding to sign the passport with blank ink?
Thanks in advance.
