Hi All!
Apologies if I've posted in the wrong place, I have tried to search the forums for this but did not seem to find any appropriate response.
I'm in the midst of applying for a Tier 2 General visa and I've been asked for the Certificate of Sponsorship. The issue is my HR department is unaware of what this is but the service provider is saying its a 2 page document that has the UKVI symbol at the top.
Can anyone confirm this? They've also asked if I want to expedite the application and from what I can see there is no option to do this if you're outside the UK. The only premium service is for those applying to switch or extend their Tier 2 visa.
Can anyone help someone who is utterly confused?
Biggest thanks and love in advance!!

Is your sponsor an HO approved tier 2 licence holder??
Are you sure you have not been asked for the CoS NUMBER??
They should know exactly what a CoS is

Sponsorship certificates
You must assign a certificate of sponsorship to each foreign worker you employ. This is an electronic record, not a physical document. Each certificate has its own number which a worker can use to apply for a visa.
Certificates must be used within 3 months from when they’re assigned.

Wow you've been an absolute help!! (I've been in full panic mode for some time)
HR definitely knows about it but the third party is asking me for an actual document. I'm not entirely sure why.
So when it comes to the biometrics appointment, when they've asked for these two:
Documents you must provide
your certificate of sponsorship reference number
a bank or building society statement or letter that shows you have enough personal savings (unless your certificate of sponsorship shows your sponsor can support you)
Do I just give them the reference number from the email I received from HR? Is there anything that can validate it that I need to bring?

You only need the CoS number so yes, the email is fine. The visa application form will ask for the number too which you need to put in obviously.

Hi
I've been given this as an example
Anyone know if this is still relevant and if so how do I get this document?
Thanks!

Yup. I received my Certificate of Sponsorship earlier last week and it definitely looks like that. Once your employer assigns you Certificate in SMS, you should request for this certificate.
