You can even consider your first Tier 2 application date as your start of 5years to be on safer side if you like.ukvisat2 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 3:40 pmHi,
I will be eligible for ILR next year 02 November 2019 according to my timeline
01-Dec-14 to 31-Aug-2017 Tier 2 entry clearance
01-Sep-2017 to 14-Sep-2019 Tier 2 leave to remain
My current job Fixed-Term contract will be ending in 31-Aug-2019.
I hoping to get another 6-months extension in my job contract (ending in 28-Feb-2020) .
Will this work for ILR or shall I look for another job with more contract?
Thank you

Do you mean I can use 18th Nov 2014 as starting date?
The residence period for ILR starts counting from date entry clearance visa was issued and not date of application outside the UK.apsk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 8:06 amYes, If you have evidence of application on 18th Nov 2014 then you can claim as start of your 5year period and can apply 28days before 18th Nov. which will fall somewhere in October 2019. It is counting backwards from the date of of ILR application/qualifying period, not the date of application for Entry Clearance.apsk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 10:00 amBut it doesn't say anything for inside/outside UK. Pg 9 of 18 of https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 6.0EXT.PDF
Calculating the specified continuous period
Applicants can submit a settlement application up to 28 days before they would reach the end of the specified period.
You must calculate the relevant qualifying period by counting backward from whichever of the following is most beneficial to the applicant:
• the date of application
• the date of decision
• any date up to 28 days after the date of application

It doesn't matter, my HR also not saying exact wording but should be ok to say due to review on (date). You can ask your line manager if your fixed term contract renewable or not, if so, you can ask HR to include the wording renewable as well.ukvisat2 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 2:26 pmIn my case only Line Manger is willing to give that letter.cyclina1 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 12:05 pmYes.ukvisat2 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 12:04 pmDid you also get a similar letter (i.e., required for foreseeable future, salary proof) from HR?cyclina1 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 11:41 am

HR is not giving the letter because I am on fixed-term contract.
