Flr(m) spouse visa extension - acknowledgement letter

Post by Spatel83 » Wed Jun 27, 2018 8:41 am

Hi all,

Just concerned about an acknowledgement letter we received from home office for my wife's spouse visa extension application.

Background: I'm British and wife in UK and extending her visa using form flr(m)., we applied on 9 June 2018 and today (27 June) received acknowledgement letter asking her to attend the bio-metrics (which is fine) but just at the end the letter stated:

"Your application raises issues relating to the European Convention on Human Rights which are complex in nature.."

Any one in similar situation? Just worried what this means and the outcome of this. As far as I'm concerned, the application was OK not sure where I went wrong.

Please if you can share your experience.

Thanks folks.

It is a standard letter and many visa applicants get it. The application might take a bit longer than usual.

Thanks CR001 for your response

Was querying this with others (who applied in similar situation - flr m and second extension), none of them saw this kind of msg.

I have seen for other posts and it's usually to do with flr fp applications.

One more thing, I guess this might result in flr(m) 10 year route

No, many applicants across all visa categories have received this letter.

No, not necessarily. It is a automated standard letter. Your application will simply take longer than usual. You are overthinking.

Hi all,

Just received the biometrics and passport - no issues raises and went OK.

As advised, looks like they (HO) put this "standard" clause to cover their back.

Sticking to the same subject: I have just sent my application to extend my spouse visa. Was wondering if HO is going to send some form of confirmation email to acknowledge the receipt of docs etc.
(I had to enrol my boimetrics with the application so am not expecting to receive such a doc unlike the other applicant metioned above)

Many thanks
