Long Residence (10 years) ILR help

Post by qasim1 » Thu Jul 05, 2018 8:23 am

Hi I need some help for applying ilr on long residency basis.... I came in to UK on June 2007 on a student visa and I got married here in 2010 at that time my wife was on tier 1 general, Now I am living with my wife and 2 kids who are all British now, and I am on a flr(o) visa which is ending in august I am thinking of applying an ilr on 10 years basis can plz someone help me that am I eligible to apply for the settlement visa and what documents will I need to take it with me as I am planning to go over the counter.
please if I can get a brief detail of the documents required as I want to apply on my own and cant afford to pay bulky solicitors fees.
Another 2 question relating to this is
1. I got a CCJ on my name in January which I have already paid half of it in instalments so nearly half of it is left.
2. I got 6 points and IN10 in October 2015 which is expiring in October 2018

will these two negative points can go against my application?

If someone can help me in regards to this plz

thanks

Useful to post what your full UK visa immigration history is including all dates.

Why are you on FLR(O)?

because I was on a student visa till 2010 and home office said that you cannot switch from student to any other category while staying in the country so they keep on giving me FLR(O).

You were either misinformed or misunderstood. You could have applied for tier 1 general dependent. Hopefully you have no gaps in your stay or excessive absence. This is why it is useful to state a detailed immigration history.

Suggest read the SET LR form and guidance notes, it tells you what needs to be submitted.

Thanks for replying,
I applied for Tier 1 General dependant in 2010 but home office refused saying that you cannot switch from student to any other category and than I went for appeal and the judge issued me visa on exceptional circumstances as my child was born at that time.
student visa from June 2007 to June 2009
student visa from June 2009 to Oct 2010
Applied for Tier 1 General Dependant got refused and than in appeal got Flr(o) till Dec 2011.
Flr(o) extension from Jan 2012 to 2015
Flr(o) extension from Aug. 2015 to Aug. 2018.
