Extension of Tier 2 General COS not received yet . Just about a month to expire my visa

Hi all,

Please guide me. I am in turmoil.

My COS for visa extension has not come yet. We had applied through my company's vendor. It's been almost one and a half month. We have no clue of that. Neither the consultancy are not telling us. We heard from the consultant that COS is issued once in every month between 10 to 12th. Tomorrow being 12th, we are nervous. My Visa will expire on the 8th of August, next month. If we don't receive it tomorrow, should we leave the country.

Please advise.

In country Cos for extension does not go through the monthly allocations of RCoS for applications outside the UK.

Your sponsor should know if they have Cos to allocate or not.

1) if we don't receive the COS before our visa expiry, we have to leave UK?

You must apply for your extension before your visa expires. If you don't, you will have to leave.

Why is your employer not dealing with this directly??

A UCoS can be issued immediately if your sponsor has Cos to allocate. If they don't they need to request from HO urgently and it can be done in a short space of time.

Thanks for your reply. I will talk to my employer tomorrow. The COS that we got at the time of coming to UK was restricted COS. Do you mean they will issue Unrestricted COS for the extension.?

Yes, a UCoS and it does not follow the monthly allocation meeting process for RCoS at all. So the vendor you refer to is not being honest or upfront.
