Tier 4 Dependent to Tier 2 General (Cooling off Period)

Post by sachinis100 » Wed Oct 25, 2017 1:10 pm

Hi all,

I came to UK on Tier 2 ICT on 9th July 2016 and left UK on 17th April 2017, after leaving to my home country i've applied for Tier 4 Dependent and came back to UK on 14th Sep 2017.

My Question:-
1. My cooling off period starts from 18th April 2017, after 18th April 2018 can i apply for Tier 2 General(Restricted COS) as i've completed full 12 months cooling off period here?

2. My job comes under Shortage occupation do i still required to carry out RLMT test as i have migrating from Tier 4 to Tier 2 General?

Thanks
Sachin

1. Yes

2. I don't believe RLMT is required for shortage occupation, but it does depend on the SOC codes, which are reviewed frequently by HO.

Tier 2 General Salary for Experienced Engineer

Post by sachinis100 » Thu Jul 12, 2018 1:59 pm

Hi,

I came to UK in June 2016 on ICT visa my role comes under 2123 Electrical Engineers, initially i was offered £32500 and the left UK in April 2017 and came back to UK on a Tier 4 Dependent in September 2017.

From then i was working as a contractor and now my employer wants me to take over on a permanent basis and they are happy to offer a Tier 2 General visa but only problem is they can't pay me more than £32000, but i have checked in shortage occupation list it shows experienced engineer is £35200.

Can anyone help me here can visa will get successfull with £32000??

Thanks
Sachin

There is no salary listed for that SOC.

You are looking at the non shortage occupation list. You need to make sure with your sponsor if it is shortage occupation or not as the SOC appears on both lists.

Shortage occupation is the Appendix K and not Appendix J which you posted.
