Tier 2 visa processing time starts from?

Hi Everyone

I had an appointment early today to submit visa application documents and had my Biometrics. Since Lahore office doesn't have priority visa processing for point based system, I am told that 15 working days are usually required to make a decision. Does that 15 days start from today, after submission of documents and Biometrics, or the day I submitted my online application which was on 12th July? I need to resign from my current office in Pakistan so few days early decision may help me plan things better.

I strongly suggest you wait to resign until you have your visa.

Thank you for your response. I know it's not ideal but my notice period at my current employer is 6 weeks so I will have to resign right now to have any chance of meet end of August joining date in UK, if my visa is indeed granted. I would have ideally availed priority service to have a quick decision but sadly they don't offer that in Pakistan. Taking a chance for the first time in my life.
