Qualifying period for naturalisation

Post by Kieferboy » Wed Jul 18, 2018 10:56 am

Hi guys,

Thought I would seek advise here to ease my mind.
I made a mistake to submitting my online application yesterday - 17/7/2018 when I realised I'm not physically present on 17/7/2015 (my qualifying period is 3 years). Very upset with myself but Its submitted and paid, nothing much I can do about it now.

I made an appointment with NDRS service on 26/7/18 (8th day) which is still within 10 working days. The reason being I'm physically back in the UK then. I can proof it with the stamp on my passport at Heathrow Airport.

My question is (apologise if this been asked before):
1. What would HO consider as my start date of qualifying period?
a. My online application date - 17/7/2018 or
b. The date of my documents being certified by NDRS - 26/7/2018 or
c. The date which HO receives my documents after NDRS send it the next day - 27/7/2018

If its (b) and (c), my application should be OK, I think.

If its (a), I'm screwed and hoping that discretion will be exercised and I can re-declare my application, by using Doc Gen letter 4746. This bring to my next question (for me to be prepared):

2. Anybody has experience going through re-declaration of application? What are the process? What is actually Doc Gen letter 4746?

Your advise will be much appreciated.

It would be 'A', online application date when you submitted and paid.

Many, HO will write to you if they choose to use discretion.
