FLR(M) Query

Post by Marty1872 » Wed Jul 18, 2018 9:12 pm

Hi All

I recently got married to my wife in June, she came in on a spouse visa.

She has visited many times prior yo this, always on a six month visit visa.

Just a quick question re the form.

Section 5.2 - when did you first enter the UK

Is this on spouse visa or first time ever, ie on a visit visa.

Section 10.12 - how long have you lived in the UK

Would that just be 5 months?? And table below asking about dates left and returned, do we input all the times she visited.

Sorry for the lengthy question, I am born and bred in the UK and can’t work out what is required.

Many thanks

If your wife entered on a Spouse visa 5 months ago, why is she applying for FLR(M)? Or is she on a fiance visa and you married in the UK? :?

She has visited many times prior yo this, always on a six month visit visa.

Just a quick question re the form.

Section 5.2 - when did you first enter the UK The date your wife entered the UK on her current visa.

Is this on spouse visa or first time ever, ie on a visit visa.

Section 10.12 - how long have you lived in the UK

Would that just be 5 months?? And table below asking about dates left and returned, do we input all the times she visited. No. This refers to how long she has been in the UK on this visa. Bear in mind that some of the questions refer to the next FLR(M) application after the initial 2.5 year period and the application forms are the same.

Sorry for the lengthy question, I am born and bred in the UK and can’t work out what is required.

Many thanks

Hi, just saw your comment re the marriage visit visa, and I have just checked.

You have just saved us alot of cash, as that is what she used, though totally gutted that she will need to go to India to apply for a visa.

I assume a spouse visa but also saw the dependants visa, is there a difference, can you advise the best / easiest option.

A very depressed Scotsman ☹️

Fiance visa costs £1500 of I believe.

Marriage visitor visa costs less than £100.

If you applied for the latter, then she returns to India and applies for a spouse settlement visa on form VAF4A and Appendix FM

It may be wise to post a list on the forum (in this thread) of the documents you're going to provide, before you submit your wife's spouse visa application when she returns to India. Just to ensure you're not missing anything.

Thanks again for all your help, she used an agent to get the visa (thought they would have known ) so had you not mentioned the difference we would have submitted the application and then got rejected.

Anyway she will be flying next week and she will be including the following docs with her application; spouse settlement visa - form VAF4A and Appendix FM as per comment above:

Wife
Indian passport
Bachelor degree (authentication done) and experience letter from previous job in UAE for English language (hopefully be exempt from any English language tests)
Birth certificate
Passport sized photo

Mine
Copy of my passport, all pages
My birth certificate
Our marriage certificate
Council tax bill - both names
Utility bill my name only
Mortgage statement my name only
6 month payslips - mine
6 month bank statements - mine
Bank account - joint
Passport sized photo

Additional docs
Invoice for wedding
All previous flight details
Order of wedding service

May not need the additional docs, but if anything appears to be missing, would be great to hear.

Does anyone have any idea how long it normally takes.

Thanks again
Marty
