Cat D - saving from spouse (applicant) possible?

Post by Peshey » Fri Jul 13, 2018 12:10 pm

i left my work on sabbatical last year for one year to spend time with wife and kid in Indonesia. We have now applied and I only have 4 months bank statements, as I was told this would be sufficient by an agent in Indonesia, now we have applied and understand different.

I want to try the savings route to apply now, I had 40k in premium bonds, which I transferred into my account in Jan 2018, I already had 14k in my account, which makes my saving 54k and it’s never gone below this amount in my account.

i want to ask, the reminder or the 8500 I need to show, Can this be shown in my wife’s name in Indonesia as savings? Or does the funds all need to be in my name here in the UK?

please help... this application I must say has been the most stressful thing ever, even bigger the a previous divorce in the UK!

Funds from her account can be used too yes but all funds must have been held in for 6 months and if for less, the full paper trail to prove where they come from.

If you have already applied, it might be too late now to change your application to a different financial category.

Thanks for your reply, that’s great to know.

We have paid and submitted the biometrics, haven’t yet sent in the application, from what I know we have 20 days and the reason I cut my break short and return to uk to sort it out and submit all applications etc

If you have already submitted and paid, then the documents dated at that point is what will be considered as far as I understand.

Sending Documents after submitting Application

My wife has given her biometric in Jakarta on 29th June 2018, this means the documents/paperwork needs to be submitted within 20 days from this date.

I will submit the documents however I am waiting on a breakdown of savings from NS&I which has not arrived, Im told it will come this week, would it be okay to follow up with the original letter from NS&I at a later date? or will the UK Visa services not accept it a week later?

Please kindly advise...
