ILR based on staying on different visa

Post by Chandan1 » Sun Jul 29, 2018 8:48 pm

Hi All,
I have been in UK from 2015 to 2016 on tier 2 dependent visa, After that i switch on my own Tier 2 General visa in 2016 to till date.

Now i will switch to my Partner dependent in 2019, as he will be getting his ILR in 2019.

I would be in UK legally for 3.5 years. So how many years more i need to stay and in which criteria i can apply for ILR in future.

Thanks for your suggestion & Advice in advance.

Every time you switch visa category, you are resetting your clock for ILR.

If you switch to FLR M once your partner gets ilr, you have to wait another 5 years, 2 x 2.5 year visas, before you will qualify for ILR.

You cannot combine different visas to make up 5 years for ILR.
