Also note that you will likely also be British by Descent if your application is successful, which means your children have no entitlement to British citizenship.
Also, children born before the date of your registration certificate are not affected by your acquisition of British citizenship anyway.
How old are the children?
You have a few options.
a) If the children are under the age of 15, move to the UK with the children and the other parent (unless you have sole responsibility). The children will have the same UK Immigratin status as that of the other parent. After living with you in the UK for three years, the children can be registered as British citizens (before they reach the age of 18).
b) If the children are under the age of 21, move to a non-UK EEA member-state (such as Portugal) with your children. They will then be able to reside in that EEA member-state and acquire citizenship there, in line with the rules there.
