Switching from Fiance to FLR(M) - supporting letters..

Post by souperphly » Thu Aug 02, 2018 7:32 pm

Hi,

My husband and I are in the process of putting together documents for his FLR(M) visa. He currently has a fiance visa but we are now married. We have a premium appointment at the Croydon office. A quick question regarding the supporting documents: Is it necessary for my husband and I to provide supporting letters, like we did for the fiance visa application? I'm not sure if it's still required, given the fact we'll be applying in person.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

What you meant by supporting letters? Usually fiancee visa & initial spouse visa documents very much resembles.

Assuming you are attending the PSC appointment with your husband, a supporting letter isn't required.

Switching from fiance to spouse visa - document question

Post by souperphly » Thu Aug 09, 2018 4:16 pm

Hi,

My husband and I are putting together documents for his first FLR(M) visa - he's currently on a fiance visa, but we're now married. I (the sponsor) started a new job around 4 months ago, so I will meet the financial requirements under category B. My financial evidence will be 12months of bank statements and 12 months of payslips covering my current and previous job. I will also provide a letter from my current employer and copy of my employment contract. My question is, is it ok to use the bank statements that we provided when we applied for the fiance visa, as these cover 6 of the 12 months I need for the FLR(M) visa. The reason I ask is because these bank statements were date stamped in branch at the time of applying for the fiance visa. Is it ok to still use these, even though the date stamp on them are from a few months ago?

I hope I'm making sense. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Just want to give my above message a bit of a bump...

To clarify, I have 12 months of bank statements. The first 6 months were date stamped in november 2017, the other 6 months were date stamped this week. Will i be questioned about the first 6 months, given that they were stamped so long ago? I presume not, the information on them obviously hasnt changed.

These should be fine. Only need to strictly make sure that latest bank statement must not be 28 days older.

Thanks so much for getting back to me, Seagul.

I have a similar question regarding the accommodation documents. We live in a council house. We have a signed letter from the council stating that it's ok for my husband to live with us, and we have a copy of the council tenancy agreement. Again, these were provided when we applied for my husbands fiance visa, so the dates on them are from a few months back. Is it ok to use these again? We have an up to date property inspection that was carried out last week, which confirms the house isn't overcrowded.

Thanks again

Hi,

Just want to say thanks to everyone who helped out and offered advice and answers to my annoying questions.

Very pleased to report that my husband was granted his spouse visa at the Croydon office a few days ago. Such a huge weight off our shoulders.

Anyway, thanks again. No doubt you'll hear from me again in a couple of years when he has to extend it.
