You must attend your premium appointment before your visa expires.

Date of application is the date of your appointment.

Thank you for your answer but as I said my application has been pay and fully filed and submitted online and on the application confirmation they clearly said 30/07/2018 date of application.

If I cancel this online and post it I will need to pay the postal fee again ?

Yes, if you cancel, you lose the fee and have to pay again.

Date of application is the date of your appointment, regardless of what the email or online confirmation says. Members have reported back confirming this after their appointments.

You don't loose the fee if you applied for and paid for a premium appointment online. You'll get the money back in 4 weeks time if there is more than 5 days til the appointment.

The DATE of the appointment is the actual application date so please save yourself by posting your application ahead of time. Should come back within 3-4 months.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

The date of application is specified under 34G and caseworkers should abide by that.

Vinny - I applaud your knowledge. To be specific the rule states:

(iv) where the application is made via the online application process, the date on which the online application is submitted whether or not a subsequent appointment is made at a Home Office premium service centre.

What is confusing is that if an applicant used the wrong for, they are meant to be give 10 days to provide the correct form. I have read rejections bard on wrong forms. Interesting. A topic for another time perhaps.

According to the rules and what Vinny posted you're OK

Personally speaking.... knowing UKVI...I would post the application. You will never know.

It's your choice x

Thank you all,
Article 34 (IV) is very clear it is what I needed.
Thank you I will let you know because of the fee and other barriers I will probably wait for September appointment.

Hi Marie,
My wife and I are in exactly the same position as you.
Wife’s visa expires September 7th.
Earliest premium appointment is September 25th - we have booked it.

Would you kindly post your outcome here?

Best of luck!!
