Category A or B?

Post by partner_applicant » Tue Aug 14, 2018 4:46 pm

Hi all,

After spending some time travelling and together since my wife and I got married now is the time for her to go back home and apply for a spouse visa for her new home - here in the UK.

We’ll apply at the end of this month but in the 6 months prior to this date I’ll have worked in two different jobs. From my description below would somebody be able to let me know what category I am in and what documents, certifications etc I’ll have to produce ...

Current job

- Started on 30th April 2018 and earning a pre tax salary of £37000

Previous job

- Left the role on 27th April 2018 and was earning a pre tax salary of £42863 (pension benefits were better in new job in case you’re wondering)

For reference - In my entire career I haven’t earned below the threshold of £18.6K

And for the documents question, rather than submit lots of pay slips, would an e-P60 suffice?

You can very well be fit under category B. You will have to send 12 months of payslips from present & previous job and the employer letter from present job. Although P60 can serve the purpose but still preferably try to send payslips instead p60.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thanks.

I have all of my documents at hand but would somebody kindly share which documents require notarization, official stamps etc as opposed to having just electronic copies?

Should I also have a housing overcrowding report? I currently have a council tax letter which shows that I am the sole occupier in the property.

Many thanks

Would the payslips from the previous job have to be authenticated via an employer letter as well, or would the old contract letter be sufficent?

Most frequently the non-original documents such as payslips, bank statements etc need to be officially stamped. If you living along in property then you won't need property inspection report.

Electronically produced payslips either from current or previous employer must be officially stamped and ideally employer letter from previous employer should be attached but I think it won't be very important because in a lot occasions when you not working anymore for an employer then he won't issue you any letter which I believe HO should. But employer letter from present employer is mandatory.
