ILR processing time clarifaction

Post by AllyD » Thu Aug 16, 2018 10:10 pm

I am applying for indefinite leave to remain after 5 years on a tier 2 general visa.
When I spoke to someone from immigration about processing time, she said it would take a FIXED six months, during which time they would keep my passport.
When I asked if i would get a same day answer if I paid more for the premium service, she said would still take six months.
But when I applied online it gave me an option to pay for same day premium. Is this woman wrong? She was sure of herself when I spoke to her.

Am considering paying the extra for premium but not going to pay that if it takes the same time! Also is it really a fixed six months for postal applications or is it possible to get decisions before then?

No it is not a fixed 6 months. Usually around 2/3 months.

Same day you usually get a decision on the day. Sometimes it is deferred for further checks and it takes longer.

Note the call centre is outsourced to a third party!!

Ok thank you! Didn’t realise it was it was outsourced to people who feed back the wrong information.
Do you you know if I sent application for same day but appointment was not for some time later if your payslips and bank statements would have to be less than a month old for the date of the application or the date of the appointment?
