Tier 2 dependent visa extension.

Hi,

I got an ILR May 2018. My wife who joined me in the UK last year Dec 2017 is on Tier 2 dependent visa valid till Dec 2018. I got my ILR through the Tier 2 work visa route after working in the UK for 5 years. I know my wife can apply to extend her Tier 2 dependent visa , but i had few questions:

1) Is she extends the tier 2 dependent visa now assuming she gets an extension for another 3 years , will she eligible to extending again on tier 2 dependent or will she have to apply for ILR dependent then, in which case the number of years she has been in Uk will be reset to 0 .

2) Her current tier 2 dependent visa expires in Dec 2018 , how early can she apply for the extension of the visa?

She can continue to extend her tier 2 dependent visa until she qualifies for ILR, the rules allow this. Each extension will be for 3 years. If she changes to ILR Dependent (which is called FLR(M) spouse visa), then yes her clock will reset to zero and a new 5 year residence period, 2 x 2.5 year visas, before she can apply for ILR.

2) Her current tier 2 dependent visa expires in Dec 2018 , how early can she apply for the extension of the visa?

Any time before the visa expires.
