Hi All
Soon I will be applying for ILR. My ltd company financial year has just ended and I want to file my tax. My accountant is an AAT certified accountant. I have heard that recently this AAT was included into the list of bodies who are recognised my UKBA. Cannot find anything about this on Gov site. Can anyone confirm this ASAP. Many Thanks
Ali

Useful to state what your current visa is and the route to ILR you are applying under as you have posted your questions in the Tier 1 General visa category topic which is closed now.

Apologies for posting this in a wrong thread. Shall I post this in ILR thread? Basically I am on FLRM visa and will be applying for ILR early next year. I am a Director of my ltd company. My Accounts are due now and wants to know if my Accountant has a sufficient qualification as this is one of the main requirement that accounts must be certified by a person who is a member of a recognised body i.e ACCA, CA etc. but I have recently heard that UKBA has inlcuded AAT as one of their recognised body? Can you please confirm this?
Thanks
Ali

HO states it must be per the below, which is the same as what the immigration rules state. AAT is not on the list as is considered a more junior qualification/role.

accountant who is a member of a UK Recognised Supervisory Body (as defined
in the Companies Act 2006) or who is a member of the Institute of Financial

The link you have posted is relevant to Points Based visas, i.e. Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 4 and Tier 5 and not Spouse settlement visas.
Your route of visas falls under Immigration rules Part 8.

Very confused now
. But it should be consistent with all the immigration categories isn't it? Doesn't make sense, it's all immigration at the end of the day. In part 8 couldn't find anything about accounts
