Application Date + HO or NCS

I have recently done my BC application through NCS. My appointment day was on the 31st of July and I got a letter from NCS confirming that I applied on the 31st of July. My understanding is that the BC application date is the date of the NCS appointment which is in line with what is written in the AN guide

I dont understand why in the FAQ it says that it is not the case: (see Q1)

Perhaps because OUR topic FAQs has not been updated to include EVERY situation or change that occurs.

The official guidance is what you should be following.
