Can you go from ancestry visa to partner visa ?? Please help

Post by Zoezoe » Sat Aug 25, 2018 7:50 pm

Hi hope someone can help me out on here 👏🏼👏🏼

My ancestry visa runs out next month and I cannot afford to re new it , as everyone knows the fee has sky rocketed since I applied last time and I’m the sole earner in our house on low income , I’ve been with my girlfriend (uk citizen) for 4 years and have two kids (3 year old and 6 months both born in uk, my girlfriend has been at uni for 3 years full time this is her last year , she does not work as she has to study/look after the kids , I’m self employed and make around 14000 a year so I don’t meet the financial requirements , I would rather go back to my homeland but could never leave my kids or gf as they would never want to leave, what options do I have visa wise and fee wise please help thank you

It is cheaper to renew the ancestry visa. A partner visa is over £1000 postal plus £500 IHS. Also, if you don't meet the financial requirements, you will aont qualify for the unmarried partner visa and your only option would be FLR(FP) 10 year Partner route, which has a fairly high refusal rate.

or apply for ILR if you qualify and can get the funds together (£2389 for postal).

Thank you very much for your time to reply ,
Ancestry is 1033 plus 1000 ihs which in the long run will be cheaper definitely, but very low on funds , was thinking of going partner or parent visa and applying for fee waiver If I have no other options , was only $500 for ancestors when I came over I should of looked into this a long time ago my own fault !!

You cannot apply for the FLR(FP) PARENT route if you are still in a relationship with your partner. The parent route is for single parents. It is still not an easy visa to get and only very limited exceptional circumstances qualify for the fee waiver.
