MIR for bringing child to UK

Post by brami » Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:25 pm

I'm a single mother and have recently received indefinite leave to remain in the UK. I'd now like to bring my daughter who is currently living in Zimbabwe with my sister to join me. Apart from all the other requirements, do I need to be earning 18,600 a year for this to be approved? Or does that only apply to bringing a partner?

Re the question above, I forgot to say my daughter is 14 years old.

Thank you for the reply. Just to be sure that I understand, does this mean that to bring my daughter to the UK the 18,600 minimum doesn't apply, but I just need to meet the 'adequate maintenance' conditions using the calculation explained here immigration-for-family-members/calculat ... 05533.html

How old is your daughter and what is her current nationality?

Thanks for looking at my question. She's 14 and is Zimbabwean.

He's also zimbabwean and has no contact with my daughter.

After further reading, I'm nearly sure that the 18,600 minimum income requirement doesn't apply to a parent with ILR bringing her child to settle the UK, but I'd appreciate if anyone with more experience could confirm that my understanding is correct.

If adequate maintenance applies, then the minimum £18,600 income doesn't apply.
