Applying for my husband visa and getting benefits

Hi
Im pregnant and I want to apply for Income Support and House Benefit,but some people keep telling me that it's going to be harder for me to get my husband here(he's currently in philippines and im british citizen) when I apply for public funds. Is this true?

You need to meet the financial requirement to sponsor him. Do you earn at least £18,600pa??

You cannot use benefits to meet the financial requirement.

yes I earn £18600 pa. but can i claim benefit before applying for my husband visa? will they not question if i can sponsor him because im claiming government funds?

Do you mean go on benefits after submitting application?
