Hello.
My American wife has just had a spousal visa rejected because we didn't submit an Appendix 2 offering evidence of financial security and genuine relationship, (both of which we have plenty of).
The first we knew of this Appendix is when we handed over the application. They then said 'don't worry, not everyone needs one...' so assumed they would ask for whatever documents they wanted. How wrong that was! We just got a standard rejection.
We assume the next step is to submit an IAFT-6 appeal, which does seem to allow for supporting documentation to be submitted at this stage Then we ca n provide a completed Appendix 2 with all the paperwork we can find to back up our case.
Does anyone have experience of this. Is this the correct approach? And how long might it take?
